I’m writing to you on behalf of the Board of Mill Neck to bring you great news! After an intensive national process for the position of Chief Executive Officer involving a Board Search Committee and a corporate search firm, Korn Ferry, the board unanimously decided that Dr. Asiah Mason is the best candidate to lead Mill Neck. She has more than 20 years of experience working with the Deaf and Hard of Hearing population. Dr. Mason has served as a professor of Psychology and Director of International Programs at Gallaudet University. Areas of her experience and expertise in working with Deaf and Hard of Hearing include: Education, Mental Health, Community Based Services, Developmental Disabilities, Treatment Foster Care, Emotional Intelligence, Youth Leadership and International Projects.
Dr. Mason is eagerly looking forward to joining our staff at the beginning of February. Her desire is to roll up her sleeves and work with our staff to achieve Mill Neck’s mission. The Board is excited to receive Dr. Mason as our CEO, and we join with you and community leaders to give her a most hospitable and joyous welcome in the days, weeks, and months to come.
