Scope of Work:
This position is under the direction of the Executive Director of Education and will be tasked with overseeing the Learning Commons and to provide instruction in the area of Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics (STEAM) for all grade levels. The STEAM Teacher will also provide assistance to teachers in different disciplines to enrich the curriculum and resources in the classroom environment.
Duties/Responsibilities:
Oversees the Learning Commons area.
Participates in training and workshops in areas related to STEAM, Technology, and Makerspace.
Work with classroom teachers to integrate STEAM, MakerSpace, and related fields into their curriculum.
Provides instruction in STEAM, MakerSpace, and related subjects to students in all grade levels.
Participates in various competitions relating to STEAM and Robotics.
Help organize, develop and coordinate special STEAM events and activities.
Performs other duties as assigned by the supervisor or the Executive Director

Current and valid Teacher Certificate and or Deaf Education
Demonstrates knowledge and understanding of STEAM, MakerSpace, and all applied learning related to the field of science and technology.
Deep understanding of student learning theory, brain-based learning and differentiated instruction.
Evidence of planning, organization, and time management
Proven ability to collaborate with teachers
Must be able to engage in conversation using American Sign Language and have good receptive and expressive skills in American Sign Language.
