As people, young and older, continue to look to us for assistance, it is evident that we must expand our hearing and speech services to meet their diverse communication needs. Established on the Mill Neck campus in 1986, Mill Neck Audiology was to expand three years ago. Unfortunately, budgetary constraints lead the administration to postpone expansion and scale down some of the services to the community, concentrating mostly on students in our school program. Thankfully in December of 2005, Locust Valley residents Mildred and Frank Feingberg recognized this need and generously donated a $250,000 matching grant for the renovation of Mill Neck Audiology.

We believe Mill Neck Audiology has the potential to be a leader in hearing and speech services for children and adults on Long Island. For over 55 years, Mill Neck has established a tradition of successfully providing quality educational services to hearing impaired individuals, in particular children. This untarnished reputation, together with the support of the Feinberg family and advancements in technology, will facilitate enhanced services and a renewed commitment to the community.

A dream come true, this much-needed renovation will begin in late June and will feature separate adult and pediatric testing areas, a new assistive listening display area, a new observation room with parent observation area, as well as a new vestibule, entry foyer and reception area. By doing so, Mill Neck Audiology will expand into a more full- service community hearing and speech center, providing more community testing, hearing aid dispensing, cochlear implant MAPping services, distribution of assistive listening devices, amplification adjustments and speech services.
